Why I Built JAT Global Live Watch
Every year, families around the world face floods, earthquakes, cyclones, wildfires, extreme heat and other natural hazards. Behind every headline are people trying to protect their loved ones, homes and communities.
Sometimes the most heartbreaking part is how little time people have to prepare. I began this project with a simple question: What if reliable environmental information were easier to find, understand and share?
I am a software engineer and technical leader who believes technology should do more than make life convenient. It should also help people make informed decisions when moments matter.
My vision is to bring environmental observations, disaster reports, forecasts and official warnings together in one accessible place for people worldwide.
One application cannot stop an earthquake or prevent a cyclone. Some hazards cannot be predicted reliably in advance. But helping even one family find a trusted warning, understand a risk or prepare earlier would make this effort worthwhile.
